On the 20th anniversary of their inclusion in the List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Royal Residences of Torino and Piemonte have prepared a full calendar of events based on the five senses - sight, taste, touch, smell and hearing. The “Reali sensi” (Royal Senses) celebration includes tours centered around visual arts, music, the history of Court perfumers and Royal Madams, as well as visits with tastings and tactile itineraries.
Giro d'Italia's 100th edition
race will take place this year and as
will draw the attention
of millions of sports lovers. Giro
d’Italia is Italy’s most prestigious
bike race and one of cycling’s three big
races, including, le Tour de France and
the Vuelta a Espana. This year, the
three-week, 21-stage race will begin on
Friday, May 5, in Alghero, in Sardinia
and finish in Milan on Sunday, May 28.
Impressive and original video installation presenting a modern approach to the work of the famous artist Michelangelo Merisi: a huge, sophisticated multi-projection system combined with evocative music and olfactory fragrances ensure visitors a unique experience involving the senses in a complete personal “immersion” in the art of the 17th century master with a show of about 50 minutes evoking 57 of his works.
A major event to honor the figure of the 17th-century Emilian painter: an exhibition at Palazzo Farnese and the unique experience of going up into the dome of the cathedral of Piacenza to see the frescoes. In Piacenza, 2017 will be remembered as the year of Guercino. The 17th-century artist from Emilia (Cento, Ferrara, 1591 – Bologna, 1666) will be honored with a series of remarkable initiatives that combine the cathedral and Palazzo Farnese in a single itinerary.
